Ages and Eras change because people change.
Sometimes its a matter of older people and older ideas dying off to be replaces by younger people with younger ideas.
But sometimes it happens within a single cohort ; occurring over a relatively few number of years.
Such as within my infamously large cohort, the Baby Boomers.
This blog is about my personal journey from being a 1950s child so proud of his plastic model of the first atomic submarine, the USS Nautilus, to a an 1970s young adult who became and remains a very active green and environmentalist.
In the course of a single generation we went from claiming we loved anything ‘Man-Made’ to claiming we loved everything ‘Natural’. (The actual truth was, as always, a lot more complex.)
But I hardly think I was alone in my journey.
This blog is about how and why I and so many others changed so drastically and so suddenly, almost incidentally abruptly ending one Era in history and creating another in the process.
Not to bury the lede, but it were Penicillin that made me do it....
